The Two-Cent piece was minted from 1864 to 1873 making it one of the shortest-lived coins of the United States. The two-cent coin was the first coin with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. (Designer: James B Longacre, Weight: 6.2 grams, Composition: .950 copper,.050 tin and zinc, Diameter: 23mm)

Large-Cents were coined from 1793 to 1857 except 1815 because of a copper shortage. There are many variations but all Large-Cents were minted in Philadelphia. (Designer: Christian Gobrecht, Weight: 10.89 grams, Composition: copper, Diameter: 27.5mm)

Seated Liberty Half Dimes were minted from 1794 to 1873. (Designer: Christian Gobrecht, Weight: 1.34 grams, Composition: .900 silver, .100 copper, Diameter 15.5mm)

Three-Cent Nickels were issued because the public was hoarding the three-cent silver coins (Trimes). Nickel three-cent pieces were minted from 1865 to 1889. (Designer: James B Longacre, Weight: 1.94 grams, Composition: .750 copper, .250 nickel, Diameter: 17.9mm, All were coined at the Philadelphia Mint.)

Silver Three-Cent Pieces (Trimes) were minted from 1851 to 1873. The coins were hoarded by the public because the silver in the coin was worth more than the three-cent face value. Most of the production of coins from 1863 to 1872 was melted in 1873. (Designer: James B Longacre, Weight: .75 gram, Composition: .900 silver, .100 copper, Diameter: 14mm.)
