Necklace Collection 1936 Buffalo Nickel Necklace with 18 Inch Braided Leather Cord
This is a 1936 Buffalo Nickel Necklace. The coin is in F (Fine) condition with lots of detail and the date clearly seen. I've placed it in a stainless steel bezel. It hangs from an 18 inch dark brown braided leather cord with sterling silver clasp. It comes in a gift ready box. The bail is extra large to allow you to replace the leather cord and use your own favorite chain when you want to go a little more "formal".
The Buffalo Nickel was minted from 1913 to 1938. Designed by James Earl Fraser, he employed three different Native Americans as models. It's said the bison was modeled after "Black Diamond", a bison at the New York Central Park Zoo
The Buffalo Nickel weighs 5 grams, is comprised of .750 copper and .250 nickel. They were minted in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
Note: Cleaning a collectible coin can greatly reduce its value.
